Periods of clouds between July 24 and 28 is possible over parts of the UAE and Oman as cloud from the Arabian Sea drift to eastern Arabia. Some thundershowers might reach parts of Oman . A low-level monsoon low pressure moves to northwest India and northern Arabian Sea. Other areas remain hot and dry with some clouds at some times while mountains of Saudi Arabia and Yemen continue receiving seasonal afternoon thundershowers.
Update 3 PM June 12th, 2011: Tropical storm 01A is has weakened to a depression. It is expected to dissipate during the next 24-48 hours off the northwest coast of India after delivering some rain and winds there. Meteorological summer (June-August) is about to begin with even warmer weather on the way. During the next few days there could be some isolated and brief afternoon thundershowers over Hajar mountains (which sometimes affect nearby Oman towns and Al Ain in the UAE). Such periods happen frequently in summer and early autumn. More showers over mountains of southern Saudi Arabia and Yemen which also happen frequently in summer as inter-tropical convergence zone moves northward. During May 2002, an interesting tropical storm formed over the Arabian Sea. It formed on May 6th and lost its tropical storm status on May 10th, but not before hitting southeast Oman with heavy rainfall.
