After a period of unstable weather over parts of mountainous UAE and Oman, and milder weather over the Arabian Peninsula in general, a return to warmer weather is expected. A stagnant high pressure is expected to start building up, and might not fade away until at least Oct 20th. During this time, day-time temperatures will increase again. Although not as hot as September, temperatures could reach late 30s and possibly 40C in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Humid nights and foggy mornings are possible during the next 7 days. Temperatures have soared accross the UAE and eastern Arabia to unseasonally high levels as most areas recorded extreme temperatures of above 40c. This has been aided by a mid-level high pressure system. In contrast, the Mediterranean is expriencing milder than normal temperautures a mid-latitude low affects the region, which will help cause scaterred showers and thunderstorms during the next 3-4 days over the Mediterranean, Iraq, and possibly parts of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

The last few days of April will see continued showers and thunderstorms over parts of central and northern Saudi Arabia, as well as Kuwait, Iraq, and the Mediterranean as a mid-latitude low crosses the Mediterranean, delivering rain there. Some lingering showers over Saudi Arabia during the first 24-48 hours of May are expected along with the possibility of afternoon mountainous thunderstorms over Hajar mountains. While Saudi Arabia and the Mediterranean continue to be prone to some showers during the month of May, a change into a dry weather pattern is likely to settle in by end of May if not before. A few thundershowers formed over Hajar mountains. Chance for other areas remain small. UAE forecast: Small risk of rare late-April isolated showers between Tuesday PM and Wendesday AM. This is in response to a mid-level low passing eastward with a trough extending to Arabia. Chance remains small, but mountainous areas, western region, and coastal cities have a higher chance. Even though the overall chance is low, thundershowers forming this time of the year are capable of producing high downdraft winds that can result in localized dust.
