The weather has improved across the region as temperatures reduced along with humidity levels. While temperatures have reduced in the gulf countries of the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman, it seems that Kuwait and other parts of Saudi Arabia got the most cooling effects. In Kuwait, temperatures were in late 20s during the day, falling to late teens by night-time. Although temperatures are expected to warm up again in Kuwait, a significant cooling is expected by the start of next week around Oct 31. Thunderstorms during the afternoon hours over interior UAE on Oct 8th, 2011.

As the last few days brought interesting afternoon thundershowers to interior and mountainous UAE along with the eastern coast, the same is expected to continue on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday along the Hajar mountains of the UAE and Oman. The weak upper low over SW Asia, although the first this season, is expected to reduce the impact of the upper high that usually suppresses convective thunderstorms. March marks the start of meteorological spring (while astronomical spring starts around March 20-22). There will be several rounds of showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Arabian Peninsula between March 4th and 19th. March 15 – 18: A third round is expected over Southwestern Saudi Arabia, especially over red sea coast and mountainous areas including Jeddah and Mecca. Late winter thundershowers are expected to affect parts of Saudi Arabia, northern Arabian Gulf, and Kuwait during the next 48 hours. Showers will also impact the Mediterranean, Iraq, and western Iran. Very warm with chance of an odd shower in the UAE between Saturday and Tuesday. Chance of a shower in northern UAE. cooler winds arrive by Wendesday March 2nd. Showers and thunderstorms are also likely to affect southeastern Iran and southwestern Pakistan during the first 2 days of Pakistan.
