Well, June 20th is going to be the longest day in the northern hemisphere in 2012. This is known as summer solstice during which our sun directly shines on the Tropic of Cancer. And we all know that the UAE is positioned very close to the Tropics of Cancer. The length of the day in Dubai will be 13 hours, 42 minutes, and 46 seconds on June 20th and 21st, 2012.
Although the next days will be slightly shorter, the hottest days won’t arrive until July and early August as the northern hemisphere hasn’t yet reached its maximum seasonal heat (seasonal lag).
It is interesting that in the southern hemisphere, it is the complete opposite with Winter solstice and the shortest day.

Meteo.. can you please send me a link for a visible animated satellite of pakistan?
To be honest I don’t recall feeling it. Summer is so dull…I swear I’ve been hallucinating clouds lol.
@Alya
Haha. It was a few seconds longer than the day before. Days have been getting gradually longer since March 22. And they reached the maximum on June 22. After June 22, every day will be getting slightly shorter until sep 22. After that date, nights will start getting longer with the longest night coming on Dec 22.
Can’t wait for winter
