Looking at annual rainfall data of the UAE for the period between 1934 and 2001 is astonishing. The below chart is based on raw rainfall data available at the website of the Ministry of Enivronment and Water. A few interesting thoughts: Most of the rainfall tends to fall between November and March. The average annual rainfall is 110 mm (red line). Westerly cool winds resulted in below-average day-time temperatures in the UAE during the last few days. While temperaturs remained in the late teens during night-time over the coastal areas, the fresh westerly winds helped lower the real-feel temperature. In interior desert areas of the UAE, minimum temperatures plunged to as low as 4c and 5c in Al Shiweb and AlFoah.
