As explained in the previous post, a deep 500mb upper low moved across the UAE, resulting in a cold front that swept through the UAE on Jan 1st, 2010. While doing so, it resulted in some scaterred thunderstorms and hailstorms, passing by the the Arabian Gulf after affecting Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and parts of Saudi Arabia. Later, the storms affected Oman and Gulf of Oman.
Highest rainfall was in Jais Mountain (Ras Al khaymah) with 35.8mm. Sharjah Airport recorded the 2nd highest amount of 15.6mm, followed by Ras Al Khaymah Airport with 11mm of rain.
Parts of Sharjah and Dubai got hit by hail which was exceptionally heavy in some areas of Sharjah.
