While it is not a significant weather by all standards, the eastern coast of the UAE has become somehow “tropical.”
It has been cloudy for the last few days with periods of scattered drizzle and light rain. Not that it has not happened before, but it is very rare. It doesn’t happen every year.
And the drizzle can fall during the day, not necessarily during the afternoon. Even the temperature has more or less stabilized between 32 and 34c.
So, instead of afternoon thunderstorms forming on the western side of UAE mountains, we have clouds and drizzle on the eastern side of the mountain and the east coast!!
Too bad that there is only one official station along the east coast (Fujairah) for which I attached the meteogram for Aug 16, 2009.
