As of Sep 22, 2008, autumn has officially started and summer has ended. This is the start of the astronomical autumn. The meteorological autumn has already started on Sep 1, 2008.
On Sep 22nd the sun rays shine directly on the Equator, and will be moving towards the Tropic of Capricon.
The begining of Autumn is generally hot and humid in the UAE (Highs between low 40s and late 30s). But over the next 3 months, temperatures will be decreasing, and by December cooler and pleasant weather should arrive (highs in early 20s).
Precipitation-wise, Autumn is generally dry in the coastal areas of the UAE. One exception are the mountaineous areas which infrequently have afternoon thunderstorms mainly in Sep, Oct, and early Nov.
By mid Nov, westerlies (low pressure systems / Cold fronts) could start affecting the UAE and bring some showers and rain.
