This is a significant weather event in the UAE An upper low with cool air aloft, coupled with moisture coming from the equator via the Red Sea, is going to unleash a widespread area of rain and thunderstorms over most of the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman region. The low pressure system affecting the Arabian Gulf, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain will move eastward during the next 48 hours. It will develop a cold front that will move and pass over the UAE sometime around midnight on Wednesday. So this an overview of expected weather events Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday (Day): Southerly winds (later southwesterly) will start picking up speed and may hit 50 km/hr (with higher gusts possible especially in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain and other open areas). A trough is resulting in rain and thunderstorms across the middle part of the Arabian Gulf, Southern Iran, parts of Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain (maybe Qatar?). Sunday there will be light to moderate rain accumulation over those countries. But From Monday Dec 7th to Tuesday Dec 8th, Southern Iran near the gulf is going to get an incredibale amount of rain around 100mm per day if not more. That is really a lot.
